Description:
Viking
market and village. A great experience for
like-minded folks, and it's probably the biggest Viking event on the
west coast. You get to mingle with many re-enactor groups from
all over the west coast, check out merchandise from many vendors who
come from all over the country for this, and of course just have a
great time. Oh, and it's on the site of a brewery. If you
have any advance questions about the logistics and what to expect,
please feel free to shoot any questions back to Will, Robin, Denise, or
Rick, who were all there last year and who can all help out
with information. There are many nearby hotel and AirB&B sites,
grocery stores, and so forth so you really didn't really have to rough
it too much if you didn't want to.
There should be shower facilities. Porta potties are the restrooms. Mundane
camping is in the guild parking area, just the other side of the event area.
Easy walk. There is water on-site. The ground is a grassy field/pasture. Drive
on to unload/load is permissible.
Early mornings are cool but you will still have warm-to-hot days. You
can get sunburned if not tired-out
by being in the sun all day. This year Will plans to bring a sun shade
and you're welcome to hang out underneath it.
The direct sun was
more of an issue as you can always throw on a blanket or jacket for a couple
of hours in the morning if it's cool.
No issues with security. Robin, Denise and Rick will be staying
on site. The owners are great people. The organizers are also awesome folks.
Very fun, rustic and peaceful experience.
